This day-and-a-half training of trainers will address the fundamentals of group facilitation and provide opportunities to improve your skills and learn from other professionals’ diverse styles. Day one (a full day) will focus on group and communication dynamics and addressing challenging group participants. Day two (a half day) will be devoted to practicing facilitation skills. There will be a special focus on the unique aspects of working with adolescents on reproductive and sexual health issues. However, the lessons learned will be applicable to most populations/content areas. At the end of the training, participants will be able to: create safe learning environments, apply principles of group dynamics and group process to their facilitation techniques, encourage active participation, and address communication dynamics that hinder the group facilitation process.
All trainings take place at Planned Parenthood of New York City, 26 Bleecker Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10012.
